The body shape differs from other SA models because it's based on the Aria Pro II TA. The name "SAB" denotes: Semi- Acoustic, Bird's Eye body. Same as the SAM-450 but with a VariTone-style rotary switch. The name "SAM" denotes: Semi- Acoustic, Maple body (and neck). For 2002, this model was produced only as the Silvertone SSAN-450. This was likely a result of pressure from Gibson, as the following year would be the last for the Artist Series.
